About the Role

The Controller oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all accounting functions. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this position is responsible for financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting support, and regulatory compliance. The Controller will lead the accounting team, drive process improvements, and provide financial insights to support business decisions and overall company strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
• Manage timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes
• Reconcile all bank accounts and the Line of Credit account on a daily basis
• Prepare and present internal financial statements, reports, and financial analysis
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in partnership with the CFO
• Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, laws, and regulations
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and process improvements
• Lead, supervise, and mentor accounting staff
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency
• Assist with additional projects and other duties as assigned

Candidate Requirements

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility in a Controller role
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Experience managing financial audits and working with external auditors
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Preferred:

• CPA certification
• Experience leading and developing an accounting team
• Strong strategic thinking and business acumen
• Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and sound financial judgment
• Process improvement mindset with the ability to streamline accounting operations

Compensation and Benefits

Pay: $110-$140k/year 
Employment Type: Direct Hire
