Senior Financial Reporting Accountant
Salary: $100-130k
Location: Oklahoma City, OK - on site 

We are partnering with a growing oil and gas company seeking an experienced Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to take ownership of key accounting and financial reporting processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys being hands-on, driving process improvements, and playing an integral role in a growing organization.

The ideal candidate is someone who can work independently, take full ownership of complex accounting functions, and serve as a trusted resource to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Own critical financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.

• Calculate depletion, depreciation, and amortization (DD&A) and perform impairment analyses and ceiling tests.

• Maintain asset retirement obligation (ARO) models, including accretion calculations and revisions.

• Manage accounting for commodity derivatives, including mark-to-market valuations, hedging activities, and related fair value disclosures.

• Prepare debt covenant calculations and lender compliance certificates for reserve-based lending facilities.

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.

• Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls, streamline processes, and improve reporting efficiencies.

• Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams on technical accounting matters and special projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. 

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting + 3 years in upstream oil and gas.

• Hands-on experience with DD&A, impairment testing, ARO accounting, commodity derivatives, and debt covenant compliance.

• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, particularly ASC 932, 410, 815, 820, 360, and 470.

• CPA highly preferred. 

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage complex accounting processes.

• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions.

Salary: $100,000-130,000 + bonus + benefits
