About the Role

This role oversees operational accounting functions for oil and gas clients. It is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with deep hands-on knowledge across the full accounting workstream who is ready to lead a team, even without formal Controller title experience. You will serve as a key point of contact for operational accounting matters, both internally and with clients.

What You Will Do

• Oversee and manage operational accounting processes, including revenue accounting, joint interest billing (JIB), accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering growth and accountability within the team
• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, working independently with minimal oversight
• Ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting workstreams
• Serve as a key point of contact for operational accounting matters, both internally and with clients

Candidate Requirements

• Comprehensive operational accounting experience in oil and gas, spanning revenue, JIB, AP, AR, and general accounting functions
• Proven ability to lead and mentor accounting staff
• Strong independent work ethic with the ability to manage multiple client engagements at once
• Systems-savvy and able to quickly learn new software with limited training
