Focus: PI Infrastructure, Interfaces & Data Reliability

This role supports the reliability and day-to-day operation of an industrial data environment used by operations and reliability teams. You’ll own system health, data ingestion, and issue resolution across OT source systems, ensuring production data is accurate, timely, and always available.

This is not an analytics or reporting role, it’s hands-on platform support in a production-critical environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Support and administer PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework (AF), and PI Vision

  • Monitor system health, performance, backups, and capacity

  • Configure and troubleshoot PI Interfaces and Connectors, including OPC DA/UA

  • Own PI Buffering / store-and-forward to prevent data loss during outages

  • Diagnose data issues such as gaps, latency, bad values, and timestamp drift

  • Tune tag configuration, scan classes, exception and compression settings

  • Respond to PI-related incidents and perform root cause analysis

  • Maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and recovery procedures

  • Partner with Controls/Automation, Operations, IT, and Cybersecurity teams

  • Support end users with PI Vision access and basic platform questions

Required Experience

  • 5+ years supporting OT systems or industrial data platforms

  • Strong hands-on experience with:

  • PI Data Archive

  • PI Asset Framework (AF)

  • PI Vision

  • PI Interfaces (OPC DA/UA or similar protocols)

  • PI Buffering

  • Windows Server fundamentals (services, event logs, patching, performance)

  • Networking basics (DNS, ports, firewalls, segmented OT/IT environments)

  • Experience working in uptime-critical or plant environments

    Why This Role

    • High ownership and visibility

    • Direct impact on operational reliability

    • Work across OT, IT, and Controls, not siloed

    • Stable, mission-critical systems (no “throwaway” projects)
