Oil & Gas Controller

Oklahoma City, OK

• Direct and oversee all accounting operations.

• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and industry standards.

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.

• Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements, tax filings, and internal controls. 

• Manage external audits and coordinate with outside auditors and tax advisors.

• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.

• Provide financial leadership on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic initiatives.

• Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Partner with operations, land, and production teams to ensure financial alignment with business activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

• Active CPA license required.

• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.

• Public accounting experience required, preferably with exposure to oil & gas clients.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and oil & gas accounting practices, including joint interest billing and revenue recognition.

• Experience with ERP/accounting software used in the energy sector.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strong attention to detail.

 

Compensation
