Oil & Gas Revenue Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
Process and reconcile monthly revenue transactions, including production, sales, and revenue distribution.
Ensure proper revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP and industry regulations.
Calculate and record revenue, severance taxes, and royalties for operated and non-operated properties.
Analyze production volumes and pricing data to ensure accuracy of revenue calculations.
Prepare and distribute revenue reports to stakeholders, including management, partners, and regulatory agencies.
Review and validate joint interest billing allocations and related revenue entries.
Assist with royalty and working interest owner inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
Reconcile revenue accounts and investigate variances.
Stay updated on regulatory changes, including FERC, SEC, and state-specific guidelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, land, and financial reporting teams.
Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in revenue accounting.
Qualifications:
Years of Experience: 2+ years of revenue accounting experience in the oil and gas industry.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
Experience with oil and gas accounting software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
Understanding of production reporting, revenue distribution, and severance tax filings.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
