Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee all aspects of general ledger accounting, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closing procedures.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor variances and provide explanations and recommendations to senior management.
- Internal Controls: Maintain and enforce effective internal controls to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
- Tax Compliance: Support the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate the annual external audit and internal audits, ensuring the smooth and timely completion of audit procedures.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing training and support as needed.
- Reconciliations: Oversee bank, balance sheet, and other account reconciliations, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Ad Hoc Reporting: Prepare special financial reports, analyses, and insights for senior management and other stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and other financial tools. Experience with ERP systems is a plus. QuickBooks experience required.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations. Familiarity with accounting for a variety of business functions, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and cost accounting.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work while meeting deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Compensation:
$80,000 - $100,000 depending on education and experience
