Staff Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Prepare journal entries and ensure proper accounting for financial transactions.
• Assist in preparing schedules for external audits and tax filings.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Review and verify accuracy of invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial data and analysis.
• Assist with the preparation of internal reports and financial analyses for management.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accounting standards, including GAAP.
• Collaborate with other departments to address any accounting-related questions or issues.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in financial regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of GAAP is preferred.
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with month-end close processes and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of tax compliance and filings.
• Experience with financial statement preparation.

Compensation:

$60 - 75k depending on education and experience.
