Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join their team. This is a fully on-site position with a growing company in OKC. 

Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year
Experience Required: 7+ years in Accounting

Job Description:

 The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of accounting experience, with a proven track record in the healthcare industry preferred. This individual will play a key role in supporting the financial operations and ensuring the integrity of accounting records. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Controller in managing the overall accounting functions for a healthcare organization.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Prepare and review detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Monitor and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain compliance with financial and healthcare industry regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with other departments to ensure accurate financial planning.
  • Work with billing, coding, and revenue cycle departments to ensure accurate revenue recognition and expense management.
  • Participate in financial analysis to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with external vendors, auditors, and other partners as necessary to facilitate smooth financial operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, healthcare regulations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in accounting software 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and other financial analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience with healthcare financial management systems
