Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and leadership skills to manage a team and contribute to the organization's financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management and Reporting:

    • Prepare and oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
    • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
    • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial information.
  2. Accounting Operations:

    • Supervise and manage accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and fixed assets.
    • Implement and enforce policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
    • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  3. Internal Controls and Compliance:

    • Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings.
    • Coordinate external audits and prepare required documentation.
  4. Team Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
    • Assign tasks, set objectives, and evaluate performance.
  5. Strategic Planning and Analysis:

    • Provide insights and support to executive leadership on financial planning and budgeting.
    • Analyze financial performance and trends to identify growth opportunities and cost-saving strategies.
    • Contribute to business planning, financial modeling, and strategic initiatives.
  6. Systems and Process Improvement:

    • Evaluate and implement financial systems, tools, and technologies to optimize workflow.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance processes, reporting, and data accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and financial reporting software.
  • Competencies: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in managing teams and working collaboratively across departments.
