Key Responsibilities of the Financial Tax Accountant:

Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns accurately and timely.
- Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update tax records and documentation.

Tax Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
- Advise management on the impact of new tax laws and proposed legislation.
- Identify opportunities for tax savings and recommend strategies for implementation.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct tax-related financial analysis and prepare reports for management.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts with a focus on tax implications.

Internal Controls and Audit:
- Develop and maintain internal controls related to tax processes.
- Coordinate with external auditors during tax audits and reviews.
- Address and resolve any tax-related issues identified during audits.

Research and Documentation:
- Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide clear, concise, and actionable advice.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Document tax positions and decisions for future reference.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other departments to gather necessary information for tax filings.
- Communicate effectively with regulatory agencies and external advisors.
- Provide training and support to junior staff members on tax-related matters.
Qualifications of the Financial Tax Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax accounting or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software and tax preparation software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation range is $80,000 - to $115,000 dependent on education, experience and certification.
