Position: Accountant
Location: Tulsa, OK 
Pay: $75k+/year

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their finance team. This is a full-time, on-site role for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives on accuracy, structure, and ownership of the company's financial records.

General Purpose of the Position
The Accountant will accurately maintain the company's financial records and ensure the timely, accurate completion of core accounting functions, including reconciliations, invoicing, vendor payments, budgeting, cost analysis, financial reporting, and support for tax and month-end close activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete, accurate, and current financial records that give management a timely and accurate view of the company's financial position.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices promptly, ensuring accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
• Process vendor invoices and payments accurately and in accordance with established terms, maintaining required supporting documentation.
• Work with department heads and management to develop, monitor, and maintain departmental and company-wide budgets, including explaining significant variances.
• Perform cost analysis, including job-costing and related analyses, to support operational and financial decision-making.
• Support preparation of required tax reports and coordinate with outside accounting professionals to ensure accurate, timely filings and payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts monthly, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and complete month-end closing procedures in a timely manner.

• A minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible accounting experience; manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, account reconciliation, budgeting, and cost analysis.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, employee information, and other sensitive company data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and 10-key data entry.
• Experience with ERP/MRP and general accounting software required; experience with manufacturing-specific accounting systems is a plus.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities while consistently meeting deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with management, employees, customers, vendors, and outside accounting professionals.
