Database Administrator

Location: Tulsa, OK

Salary: $80,000–$85,000 per year, based on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a Database Administrator to oversee the day-to-day management, reliability, and security of critical database systems. This individual will help ensure databases operate efficiently, data remains accurate and protected, and systems are prepared to support the organization's evolving needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain database environments that support organizational and business needs.
  • Partner with internal teams to understand business processes and develop effective database solutions.
  • Evaluate existing database systems and workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor system health and address performance concerns through database and query optimization.
  • Maintain appropriate security protocols to safeguard sensitive information and manage user access.
  • Oversee data backup and recovery processes and help maintain disaster recovery plans.
  • Ensure the quality, consistency, and availability of data across database systems.
  • Write, update, and troubleshoot SQL code as needed to improve functionality and resolve issues.
  • Investigate and resolve database problems while working to minimize system interruptions.
  • Assist with compliance requirements, audits, and applicable industry standards.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to identify challenges and recommend solutions.
  • Evaluate database capacity and storage requirements to prepare for future growth.
  • Provide support to internal users and collaborate with other technical teams when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing and supporting database systems in a professional environment.
  • Strong SQL skills and an understanding of database design and administration.
  • Knowledge of database performance tuning, security, backup, and recovery processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
