The Controller is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records. This role leads the month-end close process, supports financial reporting, maintains compliance with accounting standards, and helps develop efficient accounting processes. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accountant with strong analytical skills and a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Review and record monthly journal entries and supporting workpapers
Prepare financial statements and year-to-date cash flow reports
Oversee the monthly close process, including analytical review of operating results
Perform cash projections to manage balances and optimize returns on excess cash
Prepare semi-monthly payroll journal entries
Assist with maintaining retirement plan records (e.g., 401(k))
Supervise accounts payable, including cost allocations across multiple entities
Implement and maintain effective internal controls and reporting processes
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations
Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Leasing Specialist roles
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Business Administration/Accounting
CPA preferred, not required
5+ years in accounting/finance; public and private accounting experience preferred
High ethical standards and confidentiality
Strong attention to detail, timeliness, and quality
Excellent written and verbal communication
Solid GAAP and financial reporting knowledge
Strong work ethic
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related systems
Salary for the Senior Accountant is up to $80k/year based on experience.
