Insurance Training & Development Specialist
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced insurance professional with a passion for training, coaching, and employee development to join our team as an Insurance Training & Development Specialist.
This role is responsible for designing, delivering, and maintaining training programs that support operational consistency, employee growth, and best practices across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong insurance industry knowledge with excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to help others succeed.
This position will work closely with leadership and operational teams to develop training materials, facilitate learning programs, improve workflows, and support ongoing professional development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Development
- Design and deliver training programs for employees across multiple departments and functional areas.
- Facilitate onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing team members.
- Conduct both in-person and virtual training sessions.
- Develop engaging training materials, manuals, job aids, presentations, and instructional content.
- Create and maintain video-based learning resources and training libraries.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Train employees on company workflows, procedures, automation tools, and best practices.
- Partner with department leaders to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Assist in developing and implementing workflow enhancements and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure training materials accurately reflect current procedures and standards.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with leadership and subject matter experts to identify training needs.
- Facilitate group meetings, workshops, and educational sessions.
- Support cross-functional initiatives that promote consistency and knowledge sharing across the organization.
- Serve as a resource for employees seeking guidance on procedures and workflows.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain and update training manuals, standard operating procedures, and learning materials.
- Ensure training content remains current with operational, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
- Participate in quality assurance and risk management initiatives as needed.
- Assist with the communication and implementation of procedural updates.
Professional Development
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and training best practices.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain applicable licenses and industry certifications.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous insurance agency or insurance operations experience required.
- Commercial insurance experience strongly preferred.
- Previous training, coaching, mentoring, or employee development experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of insurance operations, workflows, and industry best practices.
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts and explain them clearly to various audiences.

- Comfortable presenting to both small and large groups.

Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience creating presentations, training materials, and instructional content.
- Experience with learning management systems, video training tools, or agency management systems is a plus.
- Comfortable utilizing virtual meeting and training platforms.
Licenses & Certifications
- Active insurance license required.
- Professional insurance designations or certifications are a plus.
