Position: Inventory Control Manager
The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overseeing all inventory operations within a manufacturing environment, ensuring materials, components, and finished goods are accurately tracked, efficiently stored, and readily available to support production and customer delivery schedules. This role plays a critical part in maintaining operational flow, reducing costs, and supporting overall quality and on-time performance.
Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Accuracy
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies
- Develop and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize loss, damage, and obsolescence
- Oversee receiving, stocking, material movement, and warehouse organization to ensure efficient flow of goods
- Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in ERP systems, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and work order activity
Process Improvement & Optimization
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
- Implement best practices for material handling, storage, labeling, and traceability
- Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline material flow and reduce bottlenecks
- Lead initiatives to improve inventory turns, reduce carrying costs, and support continuous improvement efforts
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise inventory and warehouse staff, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback
- Establish clear expectations for accuracy, safety, and productivity
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Purchasing to ensure timely replenishment of materials and resolve supplier-related issues
- Partner with Production to support scheduling, work order fulfillment, and material availability
- Coordinate with Quality teams on nonconforming materials, returns, and corrective actions
- Support Finance with month-end and year-end inventory reporting requirements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or materials management
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management tools
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
Salary of the Senior Accountant $65,000 - $75,000 (depending on experience) and great benefits.
