A growing upstream energy company is looking for a SCADA Manager who can bring both technical depth and practical leadership to the organization. This role oversees how operational data is captured, communicated, and used across field operations and corporate teams. The ideal candidate is someone who understands the full lifecycle of SCADA—from architecture and configuration to data quality, security, and ongoing system evolution—and can partner closely with engineering, operations, measurement, and IT groups to drive reliable, real-time insight.
Direct the day-to-day performance and long-term strategy of SCADA systems supporting multiple operating regions and facilities.
Ensure reliable data flow, system uptime, and accurate information delivery across a wide network of equipment and assets.
Work with technical stakeholders to understand operational needs and convert them into scalable SCADA designs and enhancements.
Standardize and maintain graphics, alarms, control elements, and point configurations used throughout the company.
Manage historian environments, monitor data integrity, and provide support for teams leveraging SCADA information for analytics and reporting.
Diagnose and resolve communication issues between field devices (PLCs, RTUs, and associated hardware) and SCADA applications.
Coordinate closely with IT to uphold security practices and safeguard industrial control systems.
Participate in commissioning work for new facilities, infrastructure expansions, and integration of newly acquired assets.
Produce documentation, training materials, and procedures that help users and field staff operate confidently within the SCADA environment.
Stay informed on emerging technologies, protocols, and best practices in industrial automation and control systems.
Required
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Technology, or similar—or a comparable level of experience.
At least 5 years of SCADA experience within oil & gas, utilities, or industrial automation settings.
Hands-on knowledge of major SCADA platforms (Ignition, Wonderware, ClearSCADA, CygNet, etc.).
Familiarity with PLC/RTU logic fundamentals and communication methods such as Modbus, MQTT, and DNP3.
Experience supporting historian environments and maintaining high-quality operational datasets.
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate effectively across departments.
Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment and managing multiple active priorities.
Ability to complete background and pre-employment screening.
Preferred
Exposure to system integration work tied to acquisitions or onboarding of new operating areas.
Understanding of networking concepts and cybersecurity practices related to industrial systems.
Experience scripting or automating tasks using tools like Python or SQL.
Knowledge of production operations, measurement standards, and control logic.
Background building visualizations, dashboards, alarms, or enhanced analytics solutions.
