Senior Network Engineer

Responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer:

• Lead design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure across hospital campuses and remote sites.

• Provide operational support, troubleshoot network issues, and ensure high availability, security, and compliance (HIPAA).

• Monitor performance and optimize systems using tools like SolarWinds, Splunk, and Wireshark.

• Implement automation and configuration management using Python, Ansible, and related tools.

• Maintain accurate documentation, standards, and procedures for networks and associated hardware/software.

• Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders; mentor junior engineers.

• Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and network upgrade initiatives.

Qualifications of the Senior Network Engineer:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.

• 3+ years supporting enterprise-scale networks (1000+ users preferred).

• Expertise in TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN, and network security integration (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, NAC).

• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux/Unix, virtualization, and monitoring/performance tools.

• Strong troubleshooting, capacity planning, and project leadership skills.

• Relevant certifications (Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet) preferred.

Salary Range of Senior Network Engineer: $75,000 – $95,000 depending on experience
