The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting department with daily accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, financial reporting, and assisting with month-end close. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial statements.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts, ensuring proper coding and classification.
Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and schedules for management review.
Help prepare documentation for annual audits and tax filings.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department.
Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
1–3 years of accounting experience preferred (public accounting or corporate).
Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
