Job Title: Intake Specialist
Location: Norman, OK
Overview:
The Intake Specialist supports women seeking services for Women’s Development. This role provides direct client assistance, conducts intake assessments, coordinates day services, and ensures a welcoming and organized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist clients accessing day services such as showers, laundry, and hygiene supplies
Conduct intake interviews and maintain accurate client records
Provide information, referrals, and crisis intervention as needed
Teach life skills classes and lead house rules meetings
Receive, organize, and distribute donations and supplies
Coordinate with agency departments to ensure smooth operations
Transport clients using agency vehicles as needed
Supervise volunteers and interns
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred
Valid Oklahoma driver’s license
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and professionally
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs regularly (up to 50 lbs occasionally)
May sit, stand, or walk for long periods
Must be able to drive agency vehicles
Work Environment:
Fast-paced setting serving individuals experiencing homelessness or financial hardship. Requires flexibility, compassion, and strong boundaries.
