Position: Accounts Receivable Specialist

Responsibilities

• Process daily cash applications and ensure timely and accurate posting of payments.
• Import and manage invoices from external billing systems.
• Generate and distribute customer statements monthly or upon request.
• Perform proactive collection efforts on delinquent accounts while maintaining positive customer relationships.
• Investigate and resolve customer billing discrepancies.
• Guide customers through our online application and onboarding process.
• Conduct credit inquiries and apply internal credit policies to assess and approve credit limits.
• Set up new customer accounts, ensuring accurate tax code configurations in collaboration with the accounting team.
• Manage credit for large accounts, including maintaining compliance by updating external credit insurance providers on Tier 2 and listed accounts.
• Collaborate with management to provide regular updates on AR performance and escalate any collection concerns.
• Prepare and remit sales tax returns and oversee the proper maintenance of sales tax documentation.

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) with at least 2 years of experience, or a minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
• Experience with QuickBooks and/or Sage 100 is strongly preferred.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
