Job Title: Collections Account Assistant
Location: On-site Oklahoma City, OK
Pay Range: $17-18/hr
Overview:
Join a fast-paced, mission-driven team helping homeowners find solutions to their mortgage payment challenges. As a Collections Account Assistant, you'll play a critical role in supporting our call center operations by handling both inbound and outbound calls related to overdue accounts. You'll work directly with customers to understand their financial situations, provide guidance on repayment options, and ensure compliance with internal processes and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Communicate with customers by phone and email to resolve delinquent mortgage accounts in a professional and empathetic manner
Guide borrowers through payment plans, forbearance options, and repayment strategies
Document all interactions and maintain accurate records in the customer management system
Perform account research to resolve disputes or clarify account statuses
Collaborate with internal departments to escalate complex cases or provide tailored support
Process payments and assist in maintaining accurate billing records
Monitor account activity and follow up consistently on open or unresolved issues
Ensure compliance with company policies, FDCPA, and all applicable lending regulations
Qualifications:
1–3 years of experience in customer service, call center, or collections (mortgage experience is a plus)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to de-escalate tense situations with professionalism and empathy
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Proficient with computers and ability to learn new systems quickly
Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are a plus but not required
